A volunteer organisation freed from WordPress upkeep

Where it started

CanBoat Oakville is a volunteer-run boating education organisation. Their WordPress site had become slow and cluttered — plugin conflicts, layout inconsistencies, template issues — and for volunteers, the upkeep of updates and security patches was pure burden with no benefit. Meanwhile the people the site exists for, prospective course registrants, were getting a poor experience.

What we built

A clean custom PHP build shaped around what the organisation actually needs: clear course information, easy registration, and content maintainable without technical knowledge. No CMS, no plugins, no database overhead.

The result

A fast, stable site with the layout problems gone and nothing that demands ongoing maintenance. Volunteers run courses, not software updates.
